Please see me at any convenient time and we can talk. To clarify, the timescale to which I refer is not my timescale. It is the timescale of the international commission on stratigraphy, a body of scientists from all over the world who have studied fossils and the rock record to determine how old they are. I've created a new post on my blog with a link to a copy of the timescale.Mr. Syracusehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11635666842500275916noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3644601379562635179.post-85803678434794955892008-12-12T18:36:00.000-05:002008-12-12T18:36:00.000-05:00Oh, don't worry. It wasn't that I didn't think the Devonian period ended approximately 359 million years ago. However, I'm not sure it would be best to engage on a discussion on that topic here. A face-to-face conversation might do this topic a little more justice.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3644601379562635179.post-50109206576364043602008-12-12T18:22:00.000-05:002008-12-12T18:22:00.000-05:00I've checked my facts, and the Devonian period doe...I've checked my facts, and the Devonian period does indeed end about 359 million years ago. The article on the Lusitania confirms what I have been teaching for years. Most historians know that the Lusitania was carrying small arms ammunition. The point that I believe needs to be echoed loudly is that the Cunard Line allowed this cargo on board, yet did not feel it essential to inform the passengers of this fact. This ship was travelling through a war zone during a critical juncture of that war. To me, it is another example of the immorality that some business people who place profit above human dignity have demonstrated throughout history...
